Thinking about switching to high-ticket items on eBay

Wind Veil
Been thinking about moving into expensive items on eBay. Right now I'm selling cheap stuff that moves fast, but the profit margins aren't what I'd like them to be. Figured selling electronics or similar high-end products would mean fewer sales but better money per transaction. Worth getting into or am I asking for trouble? What are the risks and benefits of this kind of selling?

High-ticket stuff brings bigger payouts but also bigger headaches. Returns cost way more when you're shipping expensive items back and forth. Buyers are pickier, they'll nitpick every detail and file claims over minor issues. Your money gets tied up in inventory or supplier deposits instead of turning over quickly. Plus eBay fees on a $2000 item hurt more than fees on 100 small sales. Chargebacks can wipe out weeks of profit in one go.

Customer service demands go up significantly with expensive products since buyers expect premium treatment at that price point. Shipping insurance becomes mandatory rather than optional, which eats into margins. There's a breakdown of whether high ticket dropshipping is profitable or not here: https://easync.io/articles/high-ticket-dropshipping/ . The article covers supplier relationships, cash flow management, and realistic profit expectations when you're dealing with items over $500.
